In-Kind Donations

Gifts-In-Kind

As a registered charity, the Regional Animal Protection Society welcomes products as donations. We can issue tax receipts for some of these donations, provided Canada Revenue Agency regulations are met.

Gifts-in-kind are a meaningful way to support RAPS’ lifesaving work, such as through our RAPS Cat Sanctuary wish list, which can be found HERE. Donating to and shopping at our thrift stores and silent auctions is another meaningful way to have a significant contribution on the lives of animals.

Canada Revenue Agency regulations set out criteria for gift-in-kind tax receipts. To receive a tax receipt for the pre-tax amount you have paid for new items, please keep your receipts and contact our Director of Development, Jonathan at jonathan@rapsbc.com.

Gently used items such as thrift store donations are usually not eligible for tax receipts. However, some specific categories of valuables, such as jewelry, antiques, and art, may be eligible after appraisal by a third-party professional.

Please note that donated services are not eligible for gift-in-kind tax receipts under CRA rules.
