This is Canada’s largest Cat Sanctuary, home to over 5oo cats. Over the last 30 years, the RAPS Cat Sanctuary has been home to thousands of feline residents.
For the cats who call the Sanctuary home, safety means more than shelter. It means a warm place to sleep, room to explore and the freedom to live at their own pace, surrounded by care.

We are launching a capital campaign – $1,000,000
Our $1,000,000 capital campaign will renew aging buildings, provide new buildings, improve the Sanctuary’s outdoor spaces, upgrade sanitary systems, upgrade heating and cooling systems, improve parking, improve fencing, adding additional lighting indoors and outdoors, and make this extraordinary place more accessible to the people who visit and support it.
These are lasting investments in the cats’ wellbeing—and in the community that makes their care possible.

Event Gazebo - $100,000
A gathering place that gives back.
Help create a welcoming, covered space for special events, birthday celebrations and group visits. The gazebo will bring people together to experience the Sanctuary, learn about our work and connect with the animals whose lives they help transform.
It will also create opportunities to generate event revenue, helping support the cats’ ongoing care. Your gift will build a place where celebrations become part of a brighter future for animals.
CABIN UPGRADES & REPLACEMENTS - $180,000
Small cabins. A lasting difference.
Our cabins give different groups and colonies of cats warm, comfortable spaces to rest, retreat and feel secure. Upgrading or replacing aging cabins will help protect these essential homes and keep them welcoming for years to come.
The project includes 12 cabins at an estimated $7,500 each. Help fund one cabin—or contribute any amount towards a cozy home for the cats who need it.
ADOPTION CENTRE EXPANSION & UPGRADES - $125,000
Make room for more happy beginnings.
For cats ready for adoption, the next chapter begins with a connection.
Expanding and improving the Sanctuary’s adoption space will help us introduce more cats to prospective adopters in a welcoming environment. Your support will strengthen the bridge between rescue and a loving home, helping more animals—and their people—find one another.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY PROJECT - $50,000
Open the Sanctuary to more people.
The joy of spending time with animals should be accessible to everyone.
This project will improve access for visitors who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters, helping them move through the Sanctuary more safely and comfortably. These improvements will also support visits by seniors’ groups, school classes and others with a range of mobility needs.
Your generosity will help more people experience the connection, discovery and companionship that make a Sanctuary visit so meaningful.
UPGRADES TO HEATING & COOLING SYSTEMS - $50,000
Comfort and Care in Every Season.
Help keep our cats comfortable year-round with important upgrades to heating and cooling systems throughout the RAPS Cat Sanctuary. Improved climate control will provide safer, more comfortable spaces during both the coldest and warmest months of the year.
SINGLE WIDE REPLACEMENT & REPAIRS - $150,000
Renew a much-loved home.
The Single Wide has provided comfort and shelter to generations of Sanctuary residents. Well loved and well used, it is now showing its age.
This project will address essential repairs and replacement needs, ensuring that the cats who rely on this space continue to enjoy a safe, welcoming home. Your support will help carry a familiar refuge into its next chapter.
GARDEN & LANDSCAPING UPGRADES - $150,000
A sanctuary worth exploring.
The Sanctuary’s outdoor spaces are part of what makes it a special place for cats and people alike. Renewed gardens and landscaping will enrich the already inviting surroundings where cats can explore and visitors can enjoy quiet moments in their company.
Your gift will help care for the grounds that connect our buildings, gathering places and feline communities—preserving the beauty and sense of refuge that is the heart of the Sanctuary.
CONNOR BUILDING REPAIRS & UPGRADES - $75,000
Give newly rescued cats a gentler start.
Arriving at the Sanctuary can be a big adjustment for a cat who has never known human company. The Connor Building plays an important role in intake and in helping newly rescued and other incoming cats settle into their surroundings.
Repairs and upgrades will renew this aging space so it can continue supporting cats during a vulnerable transition. Your gift will help provide a safe, comfortable beginning to life at the Sanctuary.
UPGRADES TO SANITARY SYSTEMS - $50,000
Creating a Cleaner, Safer Environment
Essential upgrades to sanitary systems throughout the RAPS Cat Sanctuary will help ensure our facilities remain safe, clean and dependable. These improvements are especially important in an environment caring for hundreds of cats every day.
INDOOR & OUTDOOR LIGHTING UPGRADES - $70,000
Brighter, Safer Spaces Throughout the Sanctuary.
Improved indoor and outdoor lighting will make the RAPS Cat Sanctuary safer and more welcoming for cats, staff, volunteers and visitors. These upgrades will enhance visibility throughout our buildings, pathways and outdoor spaces while improving safety across the property.

All donations go to RAPS. If donations are received for a campaign that does not reach its goal, or if excess funds are raised, those donations may be used for general RAPS purposes to help animals and their people.
